About The Position
Dove Healthcare - Regional Vent Center is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for part-time PM shift opportunities. The 31-bed center in Chippewa Falls is the only state-approved ventilator-dependent skilled nursing center in the Chippewa Valley and one of eight in Wisconsin. It cares for patients of all ages, with an average age of approximately 57, who have advanced chronic respiratory needs and complex medical conditions. CNAs assist residents with activities of daily living and help provide a safe, comfortable, home-like environment. They work as part of a team in a setting with a higher staff ratio and innovative technology. The care team includes a board-certified pulmonologist, nurse practitioner, 24-hour respiratory therapist coverage, ventilator-certified nursing staff, a wound-care-certified nurse, on-site dialysis, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists trained in ventilator and tracheostomy care. The center has a history of helping patients wean from ventilators and tracheostomies and return home whenever possible. Dove Healthcare describes the position as an opportunity to learn new skills, advance existing skills, and build relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Staff are not mandated to stay late or come in early. Dove Healthcare consists of 11 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers and three independent living complexes. Its services include rehabilitation, post-hospital care, ventilator care, skilled nursing, long-term and end-of-life care, and senior living services.
Requirements
- Current certification as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in the State of Wisconsin.
Nice To Haves
- Applicants who have successfully completed a 75-hour CNA training program and are waiting to complete the state exam are encouraged to apply.
