About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care to residents under direct supervision at Hi-Desert Continuing Care Center. The role supports residents’ comfort and care by assisting with personal needs, collecting and documenting vital signs and other care information, and maintaining accurate and confidential resident records. The position works night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every other weekend required.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Current California CNA license.
• CPR certificate.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, and safety, environmental, infection-control, sanitation, and hospital standards.
• Obtain and document resident vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SAO2), respiration, pulse, pain, and weight, as well as intake and output (I&O).
• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, oral care, shaving, dressing, eating, bedpans, and transportation.
• Maintain resident documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and unit care data.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to resident comfort and privacy.
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings as requested, and attend continuing education courses related to the area of specialization.
