About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality bedside care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to residents in a nursing home facility. This role involves direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and meal assistance. You will also be responsible for safely performing patient transfers using mechanical lifts and assisting with mobility. Accurate clinical charting in electronic health records (EHR) systems is crucial, as is collaborating with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to ensure a seamless healthcare environment. Maintaining a clean and safe patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols, and building positive relationships with residents, families, and staff are key aspects of this position. Participation in ongoing training and education is expected to enhance patient care skills.
Requirements
- Active NYS CNA License
- Must be able to work every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday).
- Must be able to come to the facility for a brief face-to-face meeting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality bedside care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Assist with patient bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, continuous rounding, meal assistance, and dignified personal care needs.
- Safely perform mechanical lifts, positioning, turning, and ambulation transfers for long-term care and sub-acute rehab residents.
- Provide mobility assistance, including transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and other locations.
- Monitor and record patient vitals, nutritional intake, and behavioral changes into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate with staff Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to maintain a seamless healthcare environment.
- Support nursing and medical staff in the delivery of quality patient care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Build positive relationships with patients, families, and staff to foster a supportive environment.
- Participate in training and ongoing education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care.
