Free CNA Training Class
About The Position
Valparaiso Care & Rehabilitation is offering free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training through the ASC Nurse Aide Training Program. No previous experience is required; applicants need a commitment to providing compassionate care to residents. The program includes two weeks of training: 30 hours of classroom work and 45 hours of hands-on clinical training. Participants are supported by ASC instructors, nurses, and CNAs. After completing the program and testing, participants may apply for a position at one of American Senior Communities’ Indiana-based locations. Further nursing career pathways are available.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to residents.
- Complete the CNA training program and testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, tooth brushing, and shaving.
- Help residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting with eating and drinking.
- Reposition and transfer residents between beds, wheelchairs, and toilets.
- Obtain and record resident vital signs and observations.
- Respond to resident call lights and help fulfill requests.
- Provide companionship and build meaningful relationships with residents.
