About The Position

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants to provide in-home care to senior adults and others in need across Central Illinois. The role supports clients with daily living responsibilities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, and companionship. Caregivers may help clients maintain routines and independence while providing respectful, attentive assistance to clients and their families. The position offers varied shift lengths from 1 to 12 hours and flexible scheduling, with full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities available. Caregivers make their own schedules, and travel time with mileage reimbursement is offered. The Springfield Office Team provides client and caregiver introductions so caregivers are not sent into an unfamiliar situation alone. Advanced training opportunities include Dementia Care and Alzheimer’s Care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver orientation.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, including attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Own a vehicle with current insurance.
Social Security Card.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside the home, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while they shop.
Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Provide transportation and other daily-living support.
