Certified Nursing Assistant CNA - Per Diem
About The Position
HomeWorks, a division of United Methodist Communities, is hiring a per diem Certified Nursing Assistant for its staffing team in New Jersey. The role supports consistent, resident-focused care across the organization’s senior living communities. CNAs select available shifts that fit their schedules, with day, evening, and night shifts offered based on availability. The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living and routine personal care, including dressing and grooming, and supports dining, mobility, and daily routines. The position involves following care plans and community guidelines, observing residents and sharing relevant updates or concerns with appropriate team members, and collaborating with nurses and coworkers to support residents’ well-being. The CNA also helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment and builds positive relationships with residents and families.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey CNA certification.
- At least 6 months of experience in a long-term care setting.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to produce a negative drug test.
- Applicants may be subject to a background check.
Responsibilities
- Pick up available shifts that fit their schedule while supporting residents and care teams across the community.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, dressing, grooming, and other routine needs.
- Provide resident-focused support while following established care plans and community guidelines.
- Observe resident status during the shift and share relevant updates or concerns with appropriate team members.
- Help residents with dining, mobility, and daily routines to encourage comfort, engagement, and independence.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and coworkers.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe setting for residents and staff.
- Collaborate with nurses and other team members to support residents’ daily needs and overall well-being.
Benefits
- Shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for evenings, $2.00 per hour for nights, and $4.00 per hour for weekends.
- Schedule flexibility: choose available day, evening, or night shifts.
