About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Milwaukee - St. Francis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Certified Nursing Assistants play a central role in providing compassionate care to patients during vulnerable and painful moments. The role includes supporting patients with personal care, participating in hourly rounds, assisting with transportation, maintaining equipment and patient rooms, and keeping unit supplies stocked. The position is full-time on the day shift, scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience of 3 or more years.
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assistant work or active enrollment as an RN student.

Responsibilities

Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
Participate in hourly rounds.
Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
