About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant delivers direct care to residents and patients at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and life care standards. The role supports residents’ well-being, dignity, and independence by assisting with daily living, personal hygiene, and mobility.

Duties also include helping with everyday tasks and dining, providing companionship, observing and reporting changes in residents’ conditions, and conducting rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents. Newly certified CNAs are welcome. The position is located at Aviata at Countryside in Palm Harbor, Florida, with a full-time night shift from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification course.
• Ability to read and communicate at an adequate level to perform essential job duties.
• Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect.
• Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner.
• Completion of the employer’s new-hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility.
• Help residents with telephone use, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition and status.
• Conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents.
• Assist with dining, including escorting residents to the dining room, serving, and cleanup.
• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
