About The Position

Birmingham Green is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents in its nursing home and assisted living facilities. The role supports residents’ overall well-being and helps maintain a welcoming, comfortable environment. The position is full-time, working 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., every other weekend.

Requirements

• Hold an active Virginia CNA license.
• Adhere to the Five Behaviors: I learn, I care, I energize, I include, and I engage.
• Complete CNA training.
• Hold current Adult CPR and First Aid certification.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills; be polished, patient, and courteous.
• Have basic computer, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Be punctual and able to work the full established schedule.
• Meet the physical requirements of sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of experience in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Take and record vital signs and measure intake and output.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary team members.
• Document resident care and maintain accurate medical records.
• Assist residents with ambulation and transportation.
• Serve meal trays and assist residents with eating.
• Change bed linens to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
• Maintain a restraint-free environment and support fall-prevention programs.
• Participate in surveys and inspections, in-service classes, and staff meetings.
• Complete appropriate forms, reports, evaluations, and studies.
• Provide post-mortem care as needed.
