About The Position

The Spine Hospital of Louisiana is seeking a hardworking, compassionate, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join its Inpatient (Med/Surg) team. The CNA works alongside the nursing team to provide hands-on care to adult and geriatric patients and support their recovery, comfort, dignity, and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in a hospital or medical environment.
• Current Nursing Assistant certification through the Louisiana Department of Health.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and effective communication skills.
• Patient-focused approach and commitment to teamwork, safety, and patient dignity.
• Ability to perform essential job functions, including prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with patient transfers, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, feeding, toileting, positioning, and ambulation.
• Support patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and transportation.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake and output, and blood glucose readings after competency validation.
• Promptly report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
• Assist with specimen collection, treatments, and procedures within the CNA’s scope of practice.
• Keep patient care areas clean, stocked, and safe while following infection prevention practices.
