About The Position

Mission Hospital is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for its Emergency Department. As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will support Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You will assist with daily needs, help RNs monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans, and use attention, empathy, and teamwork to promote comfort and dignity.

Mission Hospital is part of Mission Health, an operating division of HCA Healthcare, and is located in Asheville, North Carolina. It is a regional tertiary and quaternary care center, licensed for 853 beds, and includes the region’s only trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and children’s hospital. Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in North Carolina.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
• Assist with daily patient needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care.
• Help Registered Nurses monitor patient conditions and carry out care plans.
