About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant Float provides direct and indirect care to a selected group of residents under the supervision of a nurse. The role may be assigned to the skilled care or assisted living department. The position is part-time at The Moorings of Arlington Heights in the Skilled Nursing Department, with a 7 a.m.–3 p.m. schedule and work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). The hourly rate is $20.35–$29.30 based on years of experience, plus shift and weekend differentials. The Moorings of Arlington Heights is part of Presbyterian Living, an independent, not-for-profit senior living organization offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. Requirements

Current nursing assistant certification with the Illinois Department of Public Health.
CPR certification accredited by the American Heart Association.
Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English well enough to use medical terminology on the job.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
Good communication skills.
Interest in working with older adults.
General knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents.

Nice To Haves

Long-term care experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Carry out nursing care within the scope of education, training, and ability, as assigned by the charge nurse.
Follow Presbyterian Homes and nursing department policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Protect residents’ rights.
Communicate appropriately with coworkers, supervisors, other employees, and visitors.
Interact with residents to support their social and recreational needs.
Use interpersonal skills to establish relationships with residents.
Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the charge nurse.
