The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is an essential member of the hospice care team and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role provides personal care and support services to meet patients’ daily needs, enhance comfort, and maintain a safe environment. The CNA observes patients’ conditions and accurately reports and documents observations and the services provided. The hospice team supports patients and families who have chosen care focused on comfort and quality of life rather than treatment to cure a terminal illness. Care is provided where the patient calls home, including houses, apartments, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. Hospice Care Centers are available when a patient needs a higher level of care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., serving Campbell, Kenton, Boone, Grant, Gallatin, and Carroll Counties.
