About The Position

This position is for a Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant in the Oncology ICU at the Werner Cancer Hospital ICU, or WICU. This 12-bed intensive care unit serves adult surgical, oncology, and palliative care patients receiving chemotherapy. The role involves performing delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of the patient's plan of care. The shift details are for full-time or part-time positions during the day.

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age required (for CNA).
• Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska (for CNA).
• Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
• Minimum of 18 years of age required (for Nursing Assistant).
• High school education or equivalent required (for Nursing Assistant).
• Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program (for Nursing Assistant).

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Direct patient care experience preferred (for Nursing Assistant).
