About The Position

This position is for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), a 20-bed critical care unit providing care to critically ill patients with various medical illnesses including respiratory failure, acute and chronic kidney failure, liver failure, overdoses, and septic shock. All new graduate nurses will attend the Intensive Care Fellowship and Residency Program to enhance their skill set and prepare them to be nurse experts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age required (for CNA role).
  • Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska (for CNA role).
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire (for CNA role).
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required (for Nursing Assistant role).
  • High school education or equivalent required (for Nursing Assistant role).
  • Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program (for Nursing Assistant role).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required (for Nursing Assistant role).

Nice To Haves

  • Direct patient care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient's plan of care.
