Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit) on the Critical Care: 6 Tower SICU. This position is for the night shift, working 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. The CNA will assist the Registered Nurse (RN) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and assisting with activity orders and ambulation. They will also be responsible for measuring and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The role involves purposeful rounding, participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and ensuring patient call lights are accessible and answered promptly. Additionally, the CNA will collect specimens, maintain nursing area stock, clean equipment, and perform patient positioning and transporting duties. They will also assist with nutritional needs, skin integrity, and ensure special patient supplies are provided. Depending on unit requirements, tasks may include removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans. Practice must adhere to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care for patients served.
