This is a Full Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position on the Neuro/Tele unit, working 9 nights. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, performing purposeful rounding, and participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes. The CNA will ensure patient call lights are within reach and answered promptly, collect specimens, and maintain nursing area stock. The role requires performing patient positioning and transporting duties, assisting with nutritional needs and skin integrity, and providing special patient supplies. Depending on unit requirements and RN direction, tasks may include removing IVs, providing post mortem care, and performing bladder scans. The position emphasizes practicing within infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of aseptic procedures. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles to assess and interpret patient status based on age-specific needs.
