The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), also known as a State Registered Nurse Assistant (SRNA), provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member. The CNA delivers excellent patient care while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Empathy, compassion, communication, and teamwork are essential in the PCT-nurse-patient relationship. This role involves caring for patients on telemetry units specializing in general medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including those with conditions like pneumonia, ESRD, Stroke, CHF, and chest pain. The position also involves caring for post-operative patients from various surgical specialties. The patient population often has multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs, with patients admitted or transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.
