The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will assist the Registered Nurse (RN) with the daily care of patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This role involves direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and participating in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The CNA will also be responsible for collecting specimens, running errands, maintaining stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transportation duties. Additionally, the role requires adherence to infection prevention policies, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans as directed. The CNA must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served.
