The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Advanced role requires meeting unit competency and orientation requirements, with additional responsibilities focused on mentoring and overseeing new CNA staff. This position involves observing and monitoring CNA patient assignments, providing input to the Charge Nurse, and educating new hires on departmental procedures, safety, and health issues. The CNA Advanced ensures the quality of services provided by CNAs to patients and families, collaborates with support services, and brings concerns or new ideas to the unit manager. They also provide constructive feedback during evaluations, complete necessary patient documentation, identify and follow through with patients' special needs, and attend meetings related to patient satisfaction. This role serves as a liaison between nursing management and new CNA partners, assists leadership in identifying process improvement opportunities, and handles patient charges and supply orders. Additionally, the CNA Advanced answers phones and call lights, participates in performance improvement activities, acts as a role model for service standards, completes occurrence reports, and maintains current postings. The position also requires working as a CNA as staffing necessitates and undertaking special projects as assigned.
