About The Position

Blakehurst is seeking hospitality-focused Certified Nursing Assistants-1 to provide personal care and support to residents in its Comprehensive Care, Assisted Living, and Memory Care units. Blakehurst is a Life Plan Community on a 40-acre campus in Towson, Maryland, serving more than 300 seniors. The role is offered in full-time and part-time shifts, with an evening/night shift differential where indicated. Pay is $19–$24 per hour, based on experience. Available shifts include part-time shifts in Comprehensive Care from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on every other weekend, or every other Monday and Friday plus weekends; a part-time Assisted Living shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on every other Tuesday and Friday; a full-time Memory Care shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. on every other weekend, Monday, and Friday, and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; and a part-time CNA-1/CMT Memory Care shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on every other weekend. New hires must pass pre-employment screening, including a fitness-for-duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility. Some roles may also require questions about vaccination status.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of experience working as a CNA-1.
Must be listed on the Maryland Board of Nursing State Registry.
Must pass pre-employment screening, including a fitness-for-duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinence care, foot care, positioning, turning, and exercise.
Take vital signs and check residents’ height and weight according to policy.
Assist residents at mealtimes, cut food, and encourage residents to eat.
Complete and document assigned shift duties; report any duties that cannot be completed to the nursing supervisor.
Communicate with residents, families, department leaders, and the Director of Nursing as needed.
Provide activities as planned or directed.
Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.
