About The Position

Blakehurst is recruiting hospitality-focused Certified Nursing Assistants-1 to provide personal care and support to residents in a senior living community. The role is based at Blakehurst, a Life Plan Community on a 40-acre campus in Towson, Maryland, serving more than 300 seniors. Full-time and part-time shifts are available in the Comprehensive Care, Assisted Living, and Memory Care units. Some shifts include an evening/night differential. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, one year of CNA-1 experience, and listing on the Maryland Board of Nursing State Registry. New hires must pass pre-employment screening, including a fitness-for-duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility. Some roles may also require questions about vaccination status.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of experience working as a CNA-1.
Must be on the Maryland Board of Nursing State Registry.
Must pass pre-employment screening, including a fitness-for-duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinence care, foot care, positioning, turning, and exercise.
Take residents’ vital signs and check height and weight according to policy.
Assist residents at mealtimes, including cutting food and encouraging residents to eat.
Complete and document assigned shift duties; report to the nursing supervisor if unable to complete an assignment.
Communicate with residents, families, department leaders, and the Director of Nursing when needed.
Provide activities as planned or directed.
Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.
