About The Position

Community Health Network is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our OB ED team at Community Hospital Westfield located in Westfield, IN. This role involves 24-hour shifts with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. The Certified Nurse Midwife will be responsible for the evaluation and management of pregnant patients over 16 weeks gestation seeking urgent/emergent obstetrical care, as well as postpartum patients up to 6 weeks postpartum. Key responsibilities include the ability to independently and rapidly identify and manage emergent obstetrical and postpartum issues based on current evidence-based practice, advancing labor with AROM, rounding on postpartum patients and facilitating discharges, and rounding on laboring patients at the request of the attending. The role also includes standing by for precipitous vaginal deliveries. The position utilizes a single, robust electronic medical record system (EPIC).

Requirements

  • Expertise within the specialty of OB as a certified nurse-midwife is required
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience practicing as a certified nurse-midwife
