About The Position

The certified nurse midwife assumes management responsibility of a caseload of obstetrical and gynecological patients selected according to midwifery practice protocols. This position assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care of patients, and supports and promotes a positive image of midwifery, obstetrical care and Olympic Medical Center.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Nurse Midwifery program and certified by WA State OR Master of Science in Nursing, Masters of Nursing, or equivalent Nurse Practitioner Degree.
  • Current Washington State RN Licensure and current Washington State ARNP with prescriptive authority in Washington State OR Current Washington State PA-C Licensure and prescriptive authority.
  • Current DEA registration required.
  • BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Maintains appropriate privileges and membership on the OMC Medical Staff.
  • Maintains appropriate Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits per Washington State and OMC Medical Staff requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in nurse midwifery preferred.
  • Antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and well woman care experience preferred.
  • C-section first assist experience preferred.
