Join Rochester Regional Health – St. Lawrence Region as a Certified Nurse Midwife. The position is open to experienced providers or new graduates and will be based at Canton-Potsdam Hospital – Potsdam OB/GYN Practice (Potsdam, NY) and/or Massena Women’s Health Clinic (Massena, NY). The schedule is 40 hours per week, with typical call requirements including two 12-hour days or one 24-hour day per week at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. The practice setting involves outpatient patient care with inpatient responsibilities and hospital rounding, utilizing Epic EMR. Team structure includes collaboration with St. Lawrence Region Physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, APPs, clinical support staff, and other RRH System Physicians and providers, with opportunities for mentorship available.

Requirements

  • CNM - Certified Nurse-Midwife - American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • LMW - Licensed Midwife NYS - NYS Office of Professions
  • Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning.
  • Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments.
  • High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns.
  • Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus.
  • Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
  • TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
