About The Position

University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join its thriving practice at UM Capital Region Hospital, including its new State of The Art Facility in Largo, MD. The CNMs provide outpatient care, Midwifery Care for several outpatient medical office locations, and operate a women’s healthcare mobile unit serving underserved populations in Maryland and DC. The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive patient care under the direction of a supervising physician, managing the complex care of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients. This includes admission, monitoring, reporting on patient progress, and discharge planning and follow-through.

Requirements

Master’s Degree- Midwifery (Required)
BLS Certification (Required)
Certified Nurse Midwife (Required)
Maryland CDS license (Required)
Maryland State DEA license (Required)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)
Registered Nurse Certified (Required)
NCC EFM Certification (Required within 3 months of hire)
Strong Verbal Communications Skills
Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Basic Computer Skills
Strong Customer Services Skills
Proven Analytical Skill
Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Hears alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice

Nice To Haves

Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Master's Degree (Preferred)
2 - 4 years Midwifery experience (Preferred)
0 - 1 year Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections (Preferred)
0 - 1 year Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound (Preferred)

Responsibilities
