About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of an RN, the Certified Nurse Assistant assumes responsibility and accountability for assignments for a designated time frame, assisting other nursing staff in providing patient care according to established methods, policies, and standards. In addition to performing the essential functions listed, the role may also include other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent work experience, including ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology and English
• CNA certification required
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Previous six (6) months experience as a certified nursing assistant required or experience in the military medical service (US Navy hospital corpsman or US Army/Air Force healthcare specialist) position(s) performing similar duties will also qualify; however, those in like-minded military positions must attain a CNA certification within 1 year of hire
• Good organizational skills to handle a large volume of patient care activities
• Emotional and physical stamina to work in a stressful work environment related to patients, staff and visitors
