Laboratory Assistant - Per Diem - Nights - 8hr FPH

The Laboratory Assistant works under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director/and or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. This role involves performing venipunctures on adults and pediatrics, and micro collections on infants. The assistant also participates in data entry, specimen processing, and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques
- Proficiency in medical/laboratory terminology
- Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate
- BLS required
- Ability to operate computer input terminal
- Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques including special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks
- Communication skills to include fluent English
- Typing and word processing skills required
- Excellent customer service skills required
Nice To Haves
- Two year acute care hospital laboratory experience
- One to two (1-2) years experience assisting in performing laboratory assays
Responsibilities
