About The Position

The Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) assists healthcare staff in implementing the comprehensive care plan for residents and patients. This includes support in activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, education, recreation, and transportation, in adherence with established nursing department policies and procedures. The C.N.A reports directly to the RN/LPN team leader.

Requirements

  • Must hold an active C.N.A license in Maine.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents/patients with routine activities of daily living, including: Feeding, Bathing, Ambulating, Skin Care
  • Demonstrate effective listening skills to support resident/patient needs.
  • Take initial vital signs and provide weights to nursing staff promptly.
  • Report changes in vital signs or measurements to the Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
  • Follow procedures for Universal Precautions at all times.
  • Monitor and accurately record resident/patient intake and output as per unit standards or physician orders.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and support resident/patient rights.
  • Develop productive working relationships within the healthcare team.
  • Provide additional care as directed by the RN/LPN.
  • Assist with orientation of residents/patients and their families to the unit and available services.
  • Deliver care promptly and accurately according to the care plan outlined by the RN/LPN.
  • Exhibit empathy towards residents, patients, and their families.
  • Maintain professionalism in challenging situations involving demanding residents and patients.
  • Demonstrate flexibility as required by changing circumstances.
  • Seek assistance and contribute to problem-solving initiatives.
  • Have a passion for providing excellent care to long-term care residents and skilled rehabilitation patients.
