About The Position

This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of veterans by providing care in a home-like setting using the "greenhouse" model of care at the Veterans' Home of Wyoming, located at the base of the Big Horn Mountains. The position is part of a self-managed care team and is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus.

Requirements

Current Nurse Aide certification (CNA)
Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights to about 50 lbs.
Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends as scheduled.
Annual influenza vaccination is required.
Annual testing for tuberculosis.
Employees will be expected to follow all rules and requirements established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services regarding COVID-19.
Pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions (direct patient care positions are considered safety-sensitive).
Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted in any position if reasonable suspicion exists.

Nice To Haves

Six (6) months or more experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

Assists with activities of daily living and encourages attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion.
Acts as an advocate for disabled individuals in communicating their needs, self-expression, and goals.
Provides daily individual and group contact to clients through the delivery of recreation and leisure activities.
Plans and prepares for the group and special event programming for clients.
Documents weekly progress toward group and intervention participation.
Participates in treatment team meetings and shift change reports.
