About The Position

NorthCrest Specialty Care, a 94-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Waterloo, Iowa, is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for a full-time first-shift position with every other weekend scheduled. The CNA supports residents with daily living activities, provides emotional support and companionship, monitors health, encourages activities, and helps maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols. The role is part of Care Initiatives’ compassionate care team serving residents across its skilled nursing communities in Iowa.

Requirements

• Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
• Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Monitor residents’ health, including conducting routine vital checks.
• Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance residents’ health and daily routines.
• Follow infection control protocols to help maintain a clean and safe environment.
