About The Position

Visiting Angels of Albuquerque is hiring Certified Nurse Aides to provide in-home care for senior adults and other home-care clients throughout the local area, including Placitas, Corrales, South Valley, and Los Ranchos. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Client visits vary, and aides may provide personal care, light housekeeping, companionship, meal preparation, mobility support, and assistance with daily routines. Aides must be prepared to respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role calls for competency, compassion, and professional discernment. Shift options listed include full time, part time, 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, and short shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion for vulnerable people and interest in providing meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
