About The Position

Visiting Angels of Albuquerque is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout the local area, including Placitas, Corrales, South Valley, and Los Ranchos. The role helps clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, light housekeeping, exercise encouragement, medication reminders, shopping, meal planning and preparation, and mobility assistance. Aides must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The position calls for competency, compassion, and professional discernment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and a desire to provide meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Act promptly in medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
