About The Position
Northern Mahaska Specialty Care is a 79-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for a full-time 6 a.m.–6 p.m. schedule. The CNA joins Care Initiatives’ compassionate care team, supporting residents throughout their healthcare journey and helping create a positive, engaging environment. The role includes assistance with daily living activities, emotional support and companionship, communication with residents, families, and the healthcare team, routine health monitoring, and support for recreational and therapeutic activities. The CNA follows infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment. Candidates must have an active Iowa Certified Nurse Aide certification or the ability to activate certification. Requirements
- Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Interact and communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Monitor residents’ health, including conducting routine vital checks.
- Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to support health and daily routines.
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
