About The Position

Spanish Cove Retirement Village is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide for its Memory Care department. The role involves providing personal care and support to elderly residents and people recovering from surgery, injuries, or accidents. The schedule is 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., with 12-hour shifts two days during the week and every other weekend. Weekend and holiday work is required. The listed pay rate is $15.50.

Requirements

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and be eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
Be able to frequently lift and move items and lift, move, and transfer 100 pounds, with the physical capability to perform all job-related duties.
Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day.
Demonstrate the ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
Be willing to enforce health and safety standards.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience as a caregiver, CNA, or HHA, or completion of a CNA program.
Take pride in providing high-quality care.

Responsibilities

Provide personal hygiene assistance, including help with showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
Help with mobility at home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Plan and prepare meals.
Assist with physical therapy exercises.
Complete clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform housekeeping duties.
Report unusual incidents and respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Assist patients with meals and other activities essential to daily living, including serving food when necessary.
