About The Position
Mechanicsville Specialty Care, a 39-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Mechanicsville, Iowa, is hiring a Certified Medication Aide to join its care team. The role supports residents throughout their healthcare journey by assisting with daily living activities, passing medications, providing companionship and emotional support, monitoring health, and helping create a safe, positive, and engaging environment. The position is full-time, with day and evening shifts available. Requirements
- Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
- Valid Medication Aide certification in Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
- Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Support activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and passing medications.
- Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Monitor residents’ health and conduct routine vital checks.
- Communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities that enhance residents’ health and daily routines.
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
