The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be responsible for providing medication administration to residents under the direction of an RN. This includes assisting with patients' personal hygiene, serving meals, feeding patients, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients, providing fresh water and nourishment, administering adjunct care, checking vital signs and weight, testing urine, and recording intake and output. The CMA will also provide patient comfort by utilizing resources, transporting patients, answering call lights, and reporting observations to the nursing supervisor. Documentation of actions, maintenance of work operations, and adherence to professional standards, hospital policies, and federal, state, and local requirements are also key responsibilities. The role involves updating job knowledge through educational opportunities and enhancing the department's reputation by adding value to job accomplishments.
