About The Position

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Med Tech provides quality care and services to residents and their families. The role assists with medication administration for residents according to their care plans and physicians’ orders, under the supervision of an RN and/or LPN. This is a non-exempt, hourly, per-diem position. Available shifts are 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Requirements

Successfully complete Medication Technician training and periodic competency testing.
Ability to perform medication administration in accordance with state regulations.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to HIPAA policies.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of experience working with seniors in personal care, home health, a hospital, or a long-term care environment.
Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Administer or assist with the self-administration of prescribed medication and maintain related medical records under RN and/or LPN supervision.
Complete required annual medication training.
Provide resident care according to each resident’s care plan.
Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant medical records and written documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
Maintain residents’ comfort, privacy, and dignity while delivering services.
Observe and report changes in residents’ physical condition, cognition, and emotional status to a supervisor.
