About The Position

The Certified Medication Aide provides personal care, assistance, support, and companionship to memory care residents. The role includes helping residents with activities of daily living, noticing changes in residents’ day-to-day condition or personal care needs, and working with the nurse to update each resident’s care plan. The aide also encourages residents to participate in community programs and activities.

Requirements

• Positive attitude and enjoyment of working with people.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Medication Aide in New Jersey, or as a Medication Technician in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Rhode Island, or New York.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, engaging personal care services, assistance, support, and companionship.
• Engage and assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Observe changes in residents’ day-to-day condition and personal care needs, and work with the nurse to update the Resident Care Plan.
• Encourage resident participation in community programs and activities.
