According to the prescribed policies and procedures of the organization, including all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse/Unit Manager, the purpose of this position is to administer approved medications as prescribed by the resident’s physician and document the administration and effectiveness of the medications. The Certified Medication Aide is expected to demonstrate and maintain a positive, professional manner, manage time efficiently and effectively, provide leadership as a role model to promote a team approach, and collaborate and participate in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods. Adherence to all policies, procedures, terms, and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, and any facility handbook is required. This includes corporate compliance, drug-free workplace, safe work practices, and all federal, state, local regulations and laws. Ensuring all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families, and staff is paramount. All complaints made by residents/clients and/or families must be reported to the appropriate supervisors, as well as all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property, and any other corporate compliance, drug-free workplace, safe work practices, or regulatory violations. Completion of all annual education requirements, including Compliance, Privacy, Security, and HIPAA training, is mandatory, along with exhibiting behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of duties. Other duties as assigned will also be part of the role.
