About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant supports primary care at Saint Thomas Medical Partners Antioch in Antioch, Tennessee. The role coordinates patient visits by preparing treatment environments and conducting initial screenings, documents vital signs and patient care information, and processes orders for laboratory tests and imaging. It also supports clinical operations by managing front-of-house communications and maintaining medical supplies. The position is full-time, day shift, with a stated preference for availability Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of the hire date or job transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Obtain Certified Medical Assistant certification within 120 days of the hire date or job transfer date. Approved credentialing bodies include American Medical Technologists, National Healthcare Association, National Center for Competency Testing, National Association for Health Professionals, and American Association of Medical Assistants.
• High school diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience; required professional licensure or certification may be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Willingness to work at a desk and prior authorization and referral experience.
• Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment environments and conduct initial screenings to coordinate patient visits.
• Document vital signs and patient care information accurately for the medical team.
• Transcribe and process orders for laboratory tests and imaging.
• Manage front-of-house communications.
• Maintain medical supplies.
