About The Position

The Medical Assistant serves as the initial contact for patients and physicians in an outpatient clinical setting. The position assists with escorting patients, preparing patients for exams and procedures, and providing support as needed. It handles front office duties and implements, organizes, and maintains patient charts. The role also performs tasks including phlebotomy, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and entering orders, as well as cleaning exam rooms, equipment, and storage areas. The Medical Assistant completes established competencies within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned. The position uses a defined skill set consistent with the basic educational program, certification, and relevant work experience to deliver direct patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of health care related experience.
• Must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice the profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• 3–5 years of previous job-related experience.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Responsibilities
