About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Group - Airport Medical Park is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time, day shift position. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth and comfortable patient experience by preparing examination rooms, documenting vital signs, and assisting providers with treatments. The Medical Assistant will also provide essential administrative support, including managing patient records, handling calls, and documenting patient encounters, diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions. Additionally, they will transcribe patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of medical assistant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.
  • Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers.
  • Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and handling necessary charting.
  • Documenting provider-patient encounters, meticulously listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
  • Transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.
