About The Position

Sentara Internal Medicine Kempsville is hiring a Medical Assistant to perform patient-care and administrative or clerical tasks and procedures. Work is based on the employee’s training, education, and competency evaluations and is delegated and supervised by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse. This is a full-time, day-shift position located in Norfolk, Virginia. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 may be available to eligible candidates.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic certification.
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
At least one year of clinical or administrative experience.

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Perform patient-care tasks and procedures within training, education, and competency evaluations.
Perform administrative and clerical tasks and procedures.
Carry out delegated duties under the direction or supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
