About The Position

This role involves supporting patient care in a medical office setting. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing exam rooms and equipment, obtaining and documenting patient data, assisting providers with examinations and procedures, and performing basic medical tasks within their scope of practice. The position also requires proficiency in using computer applications for patient care, processing prescriptions, communicating with patients and providers, and managing medical records. Additionally, the role emphasizes teamwork, proactive support, open communication, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institute.
  • Medical Assistant program diploma.
  • Certification is required (CMA) (RMA) (CCMA)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in an upright, standing position for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares instruments, equipment, and materials for patient care and keeps exam rooms aseptic, neat, and stocked.
  • Obtains and documents complete patient data in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepares patients for exams and assists providers with exams, tests, and procedures as needed.
  • Provides patients with instructions in preparation for specific procedures and tests when appropriate.
  • Performs basic procedures as ordered by the provider and within the scope of practice.
  • Proficiently uses computer applications as required for patient care.
  • Processes prescriptions as directed by the provider.
  • Communicates with patients about concerns, collects information, and relays this information professionally and efficiently to the provider.
  • Performs and complies with quality control measures.
  • Completes care team calls promptly and assists with other care teams as needed.
  • Obtains all necessary medical records for their patients.
  • Completes necessary FLMA/STD paperwork.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be proactive, supportive, and collaborative.
