Certified Medical Assistant -Float Pool
About The Position
Sentara Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for a flexi Float Pool position. Primary work locations are Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Chesapeake, Virginia, with possible travel to Edenton, Elizabeth City, or Moyock based on staffing needs. The role offers differential pay for travel and flexibility. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 12 hours weekly. The Medical Assistant performs patient-care and administrative or clerical tasks and procedures according to training, education, and competency evaluations. Work is delegated and supervised by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic certification/licensure.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
- One year of clinical or administrative experience.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Phlebotomy experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient-care tasks and procedures within training, education, and competency.
- Perform administrative and clerical tasks and procedures within training, education, and competency.
- Carry out delegated work under the direction or supervision of a Physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
- Travel among primary and other listed sites as staffing needs require.
