As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care. You’ll work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient experiences. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with blood draws, injections, rooming patients, med refills, etc.
  • CMA certification from the NHA, NAHP, AAMA, or NCCT
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, laboratory and treatment room procedures
  • Common knowledge of safety hazards and precautions
  • Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to read and write medical terminology
  • Possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies
  • Must be able to take and record vital signs, maintain records, point-of-care testing, record results, and administer injections

Responsibilities

  • Conduct business in a professional manner and work as a team with other members of the clinic
  • Deliver direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established procedures
  • Document history; recording and reporting pertinent observations and patient reactions to staff, as appropriate; document lab procedures and ensure follow up on results
  • Use screening procedures, including medical history review, and observe and document patient vital signs as required
  • Maintain quality results by running standards and controls
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
  • Verify equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced troubleshooting; calibrate equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitor quality control measures and protocols
  • Train other technicians or workers
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatments
  • Performing other duties as assigned
