The Certified Medical Assistant will deliver care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process. This role performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures, including greeting and preparing patients for the healthcare provider, obtaining and recording vital signs, administering ordered medications and/or vaccines, and potentially drawing blood samples and performing routine tests like EKGs. The Medical Assistant will also schedule patients for diagnostic testing, document patient plans of care, and communicate with patients regarding test results and plans as directed by the physician. Responsibilities include preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, and keeping patient exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly. The role involves escalating non-routine issues to management, ensuring safety checklists are completed, and protecting patient privacy. The Medical Assistant may also assist in the front office and perform other duties as assigned.
