About The Position

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their Ankle and Foot Clinic. This role is crucial in providing basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), monitoring vital signs, assisting patients with daily living activities, and maintaining a clean and safe care environment. The position also involves supporting nursing and physician staff, managing tech desk operations, documenting patient care, and participating in educational activities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant required from a nationally recognized organization (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent).
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a physician office, clinic, or hospital setting preferred.
  • Handle with Care certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
  • Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
  • Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
  • Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
  • Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
  • Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.
  • Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
