About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Foot & Ankle Surgery is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant at the Fields clinic from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. This position may require travel to the Danville and Urbana clinics occasionally, as needed. Duties include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR

Responsibilities

Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment.
Clean and restock rooms following appointment as needed and at the end of the day.
Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight and height of patient.
Enter information into the electronic medical record.
Perform chart preparation according to department standards.
Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.
Appropriate use of flag system per standard work.
Review and respond to the electronic medical record work list per department standard work.
Complete referral, lab, and procedure order entries and appropriately handle patient specimens, as needed.
Assists providers with procedures/surgery, as needed.
Maintain relevant office supplies for department effectiveness.
Assist in patient education relating to medication instructions, procedures, wound care or any other necessary information pertaining to patient care.
Assist in answering phones, checking patients in/out and scheduling appointments, as needed.
Obtain prior authorizations for procedures, medications, testing as needed.
Perform refrigeration/supplies monitoring and replenishment as needed.
Travel as required by departmental need to other Christie Clinic locations.
Perform related work as required.
